MILLING SERVICES
SAWMILL
Our 2009 TimberKing has the capacity to cut 30” x 30” x 45’ timbers.   Should your project require materials be cut down to size, it will most likely pass through our sawmill.  There are many products that pass through this machine as the final step in processing.  The 150” band leaves a rough sawn surface which, for some projects, is the ideal texture.

BAND SAW & RESAW
We chose this particular bandsaw because it has an optional 3” band allowing us to resaw material into thin strips as small as 1/8”.  With a throat capacity of 12” we can cut curves through the largest of material.
STRAIGHT LINE RIP SAW
As nice as it is to think every board we dismantle is straight, they are not.  This saw has a 15HP motor with a rip capacity of 15”.  The laser mounted to the head of the saw places a line on the board and once we begin to feed the board into the machine, the machine takes over by grabbing the board and cutting a guaranteed 10’ glue line.  This means if you’re a cabinet shop or furniture maker looking for original surface material, our material will come cut to perfection, ready for you to glue up.
6- HEADED MOULDER
Often times you’ll hear about how much more dense reclaimed wood is because of both the age at which it was cut and the amount of time that has lapsed since it was originally cut.  This machine has over 60HP with special helical heads to remove material from even the most dense material.  This machine allows all milling, including flooring, walls, ceilings, and S4S to be within 1/1,000”.  With a huge capacity of 8” x 4 ¾” we can mill just about any furnishing or accent piece.  We have also recently added neoprene rollers giving us the accuracy that only this machine can offer and still leave a surface untouched with original century-old paint or patina.
SANDING & PLANING
We’ve found over the years that this can be the most challenging part of working with reclaimed materials.  We’ve also found solutions in this process that allow us to remove up to 1/8” off of material and as wide as 36” with one pass.  The curve based planer as well as the 12” wide hand planer are absolute essentials when working with large timbers.  Whether it’s putting a final sand on materials with our air sanders and our 15HP air compressor or taking material to a designated thickness, we feel we can do this in a way that very few others can.
DUST COLLECTION
Some people may take dust collection for granted, but when you’re dealing with 150 year-old grime, it’s not taken lightly by us.

SMALL TOOLS
Nails, screws, bullets, jewelry, bolts...we’ve found just about every kind of metal embedded into our reclaimed wood.  All material that enters our shop has been de-nailed once at the dismantle site, once when loaded on the trailer and once while entering the shop.  We utilize top-of-the-line metal detectors along with slide hammers and titanium bars to remove any foreign objects from the wood.

Other hand-held tools that we utilize in our woodworking include a beam saw, 12" planer, Bosch jigsaw and Milwaukee circle saw.

If you have a wood-working tool you would like to recommend, I would love to hear from you!  Email me at Jared@mntimeworn.com.
